Message from your President,
Summer is in full swing and the country is starting to get back to some type of “normal” after the Covid crisis! I hope everyone had success in foaling; it seems that the Shires are much more delicate to foal out and a lot of extra precautions are taken to insure their survival. Here in Idaho we were 100% filly and are thankful for healthy and spunky!
The show season for most of us is just starting to come around. I know there are many disciplines for the Shire horse, but whether you are riding, driving or haltering-please take time to talk to the people passing thru the show barns and share your passion for the Shire horse. We are making plans to attend the National Shire Show in Des Moines at the Iowa State Fair—for us this is a 24 hour drive, but we are always amazed at the crowds that fill their arena, making the miles worth it. If you have not exhibited or been to our National Show, we sincerely invite you to join us! This show sets the standards as we crown the National Champions. The Iowa State Fair has something for everyone and has been voted the USA’s most family friendly fair! Watch our Facebook page for more details as the show gets closer!
