Message from your President,
We have just completed the National Shire Show at the Iowa State Fair. I want to thank Lisa Graham for providing excellent leadership as the Show Chairperson, for organizing the members meeting, as well as displaying the trophies and awards to be presented at the show. I also want to thank Jeff Gower and Soaring Eagle Shires for sponsoring the meal that provided for an excellent social gathering. We had an excellent turn out of our membership and breeders, along with 7 of our board members.
Karla Stoner, the Chair of the Video Committee presented the video that she and the committee had been working on for several years. It was an excellent video showing the many qualities and disciplines of the Shire. It was very well accepted by our group as well as the many spectators going by the booth during the show.
