Greetings,

Summer has passed us by once again and autumn is here. In my part of the country the crops look great and are coming off in good order. It has been noticed that the horses are growing winter coats. They always know what to prepare for.

As the show season is coming to an end, I would like to thank those that stepped up to promote the Shire Horse. ASHA has made some changes to the show venue locations and the attendance was very positive. I am ex-cited to see the 2014 show strings coming together. Next year will be a stronger year yet, in the ring for the Shire. The reports show that the economy has hurt some draft horse activities. The Shire Horse and its owners are standing strong. I take my hat off to those that attended the shows, field days and the many other activities we do with our horses. A thank you to those that came, lent a hand, watched from the stands and visited.
